Alexia's first trip to Asia brought her to Hongkong. After a successful audition in London's Danceworks Studio, Bond Street; Alexia was flown out to be the resident cabaret vocalist, with a nine piece band, at the international cabaret night club, China City, Kowloon, Hong Kong. October 1996-March 1997. After her six month contract at China City, Alexia joined a Jazz trio in the Tiffany's New York Bar of the Grand Stanford, Harbor View Hotel, Kowloon, Hong Kong. She was the resident singer here for 4 months. April I st 1997 - July 3st 1997. On December 20th - December 31st 1997Alexia joined a jazz quartet at the Conrad International Hotel, Hong Kong. She sang in their luxurious Nicolinni's Restaurant. Alexia returned to Hongkong on February 22nd - July 28th 1999. She was the guest Jazz Vocalist of the Cyrano Lounge, situated on the 56th floor, of the Island Shangri-La Hotel, Hong Kong. She joined the resident Jazz Quartet in their 1930's, American Jazz lounge, over looking the famous Victoria harbor.
Alexia enjoyed a 3-month contract and extended a further 4 months at the B.A. T.S. Bar of the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, Indonesia. This was January 10th - September 8th 1998.
Alexia opened the new Aria Restaurant of the China World Hotel, Beijing China. This was her first trip to the mainland and had just flown in from Indonesia. She sang jazz with a local pianist. A successful duo performance. November 1st 1998 - Feb 18th 1999
Alexia completed a 2 month contract with the same hotel chain in Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia. She Joined the resident duo as a guest vocalist in the Shangri-La's lobby lounge. September 1st - October 31 1999 Alexia then completed a further 3 months at the lobby lounge of the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Alexia was the Jazz Singer at the Shangri-La's newest and most sophisticated Restaurant and Lounge. She opened Blu - situated on the 24th floor overlooking the Singapore night skyline -on Christmas Eve of 1999 and sang with the local duo through New Years Eve celebrations till May 24th 2000.
Alexia sang in the brand new and luxurious lobby lounge of the Four Seasons Hotel, Shanghai. This new 5 star Hotel opened on February 8th 2002 in traditional Chinese style - colourful dragon dances with the sound of piercing drums, noise and laughter! Alexia was joined by a superb,local,jazz trio and performed from 6pm - 10pm on Tuesdays through to Saturdays. On September 8th 2002 she moved up to the 37th floor to open Jazz 37 She both sang and managed the entertainment in this snazzy jazz bar. Her contract ended December 31 2002. Alexia moved to Basel, Switzerland on November 14th 2006. Up until this date Alexia performed at several jazz venues and was featured in local concerts and showcases throughout Shanghai. She left Shanghai armed with 2 'live' albums and fond performance memories. Please go to interviews and reviews for more detail on these years in Shanghai.
