Background
on
Feeling The Love, Songs Of My Mother, Songs Of My Father
(Vocal Album No.5)



A loving, prayerful tribute to my mother and
father, is this, my fifth album.  A selection of tunes that were the backdrop of my childhood. I
can still hear my father singing Burt Bacharach’s ‘Alfie’ and Ben E King’s
‘Stand By Me’. The songs are presented with the traditional jazz
instruments – vocals, piano, acoustic bass, drums and horns.
Most of all, these songs are presented with love. The same love that we
felt growing up in the household of Gloria and Owen Gardner. My
brother, Aniefe Anthony and my sister, Paula Marie, are still ‘feeling that
love’ today; hence the title of this recording. ‘Feeling The Love, Songs Of
My Mother, Songs Of My Father’.


Recorded over two days in March 2023 at the Recording Studio of Trading 8’s in Paramus, New Jersey.
Hyuna Park on Piano, Martin Pizzarelli on acoustic and electric bass, George Gray on drums and Linus Wyrsch on clarinet and tenor saxophone.
World class musicians active in the New York Jazz scene . Feeling the love with every note, every sound.
