After 5 days of magical performances and beautiful people I can honestly say Jazzzascona 2012 was a resounding success. There were hundreds of international musicians and jazz lovers from all over the world swinging to the music in picturesque Ascona, Switzerland. I had a marvellous time. A warm and heartfelt thanks to Nicholas Gillet and his team for all the hard work and organisation of this huge music fest!
We did it boyz! Thank you Marcel Schefer (piano), Kalli Gerhards (bass), Beat Fraefel-Haering (drums) and Claudio Bergamin (trumpet). Every single night was 'ridiculous'! Special thankyou to Thomas Rheinache (bass) who joined us on the final night. What a night! We had that audience in the palm of our hands for 2 and a half hours!. Please go along to the gallery Jazzascona 2012 for the photos of this super Jazz Festival Last night was our second performance here in Ascona! Once again pure delight. We, 'Alexia Gardner and Offbeat Trio Plus One' were on Stage Seven right along the lake. We were swinging till 1am in the morning!
Warm thank you to all those who caught the show! Even after the excitement of the Germany/ Greece game ! 3 more shows in this place of paradise ! Alexia Gardner Switzerland has discovered a Super Voice! In the Blick Newpsaper, which is a Swiss National Paper, there was an exciting 17 page pull-out about Jazzascona coming up on June 21 - July 1 2012! I am happy to say that amongst all the exciting articles about international men and women, privaliged to perform in Ascona this year; there was this very flattering piece on me.
Well, what can I say, I was really chuffed to read that title. Of course I'm humble enough to say I haven't really got a SUPER VOICE! I am always learning and growing and exploring the voice that God has given me. But it sure is great to hear such praise. I can only move forward and give my best every single time I get on that stage! Love Alexia |
