Wow! I just can't believe it! Alexia Gardner and Offbeat Trio are the winners of the 2011 Swiss Jazz Award! We were one of 5 Bands nominated for the award by Radio Swiss Jazz. We were the most requested Bands on the airwaves from 2010 to 2011. Our nomination was announced in Janaury of this year and after a few months of on-line voting from the General Public we were announed the WINNERS and presented with the award at the LIVE shows at Jazzascona.
It was 23rd and 24th of July 2011. We played under the stars of beautiful Ascona to enthusiastic crowds who continued to vote for us on their moible phones before the announcement on tha weekend.
Offbeat Trio are Marcel Schefer on Piano, Kalli Gerhards on Bass and Beat Fraefel-Haering on Drums. We had a guest Trumpeter in the gifted Claudio Bergamin.
Boy were we swinging at those shows!!
