The smiling faces of the phenomenal ladies in the show! A remarakble 8 piece band with 4 vocalists...
On Sunday afternoon I was fortunate enough to enjoy the beautifully written Musical - Cafe Society Swing at 59E59 Theaters, New York. A story of the legendary New York Jazz Venue that was the first racially integrated club in the city. It was full of classic songs, celebrating the likes of Lena Horn, Billi Holiday and Sarah Vaughan.....as you can imagine; i just wanted to get on the stage!
A heartfelt congratulations goes out to Alex Webb. Creator, writer, composer of the Musical. It has had a successful run on London's West End and is now playing here on Broadway. I am especially happy as Alex Webb is a good friend of mine over the last 10 years. He has written original Jazz tunes for me over the years such as Forbidden Fruit, All I'm Saying, Call Me Lucky..... I was also so chuffed to see my name in the Programme on Sunday as I have recorded Forbidden Fruit on my Chasing Hope album! Well done to you Alex Webb and to your world class cast - Bravo! enjoy the run!
